The Bassalope

Two years ago, with the help an artist known as Justin Weber, the first Bassalope was born. It was nothing but a mythical beast at the time which was supposed to commemorate the fusion Caribou Lodge Yo-Yo Works with myself.

Born from a Sea-Bass, and with a Caribou Flavor, the Bassalope first made it's appearance:

Months later, Chris Mikulin, the owner of Caribou Lodge Yo-Yo Works, offered me my own yo-yo. To celebrate this collaboration, I decided it would be named after the creature that celebrated our combination.

After another year and half of work and effort, with many ideas thrown out there and two separate prototypes the Bassalope finally has arrived. Chris did an amazing job. Even though it is something completely different then he has ever done before, he trucked along and made it amazing, and with his own feel. I can't think him, and rest of the team (especially Boyd Seth and Alex Berenguel, who were the original members on the team when the yo-yo was being designed).

Here it is, the very first run and the result of all our hard work:

Special thanks to Justin Weber for the updated artwork (although just to make sure, the spelling for the most recent picture is wrong. Refer to title. K Thnx).

Updates to the blog soon to come, this is only the beginning.
